Christmas Time is Fun!

This is a picture of me, Jessica, and Emily at the Utah Symphony concert. My mom came too. I really liked the concert, because it had really nice music. We had to get dressed up and everything. Plus we rode the bus!

This is a picture of when me, Aaron, and Krystal made our gingerbread house. My hands got really sticky. Our house turned out to be really cute, dontcha think?

Here I am at Temple Square. I was so cold. I had three pairs of mittens on and two pairs of socks. We went with Grandma Pat, Grandpa Brent, and Kristy and James. It was fun.

This is me with Santa telling him what I want for Christmas. Grandma and Grandpa Jenson are really cool and invite him over every year. Are we lucky or what? Santa brings us little presents each year. It's fun.

I'm a Yellow craon

You Are a Yellow Crayon

Your world is colored with happy, warm, fun colors.

You have a thoughtful and wise way about you. Some people might even consider you a genius.

Charming and eloquent, you are able to get people to do things your way.

While you seem spontaneous and free wheeling, you are calculating to the extreme.

Your color wheel opposite is purple. You both are charismatic leaders, but purple people act like you have no depth.

I Scream! You Scream! We All Scream for Ice Cream!

You're as impulsive and impatient as a kid who can't wait for the cookies to come out of the oven. You treat life like a nonstop slumber party, and you like to keep things simple and silly. You scream at horror movies and laugh your butt off at comedies, but you probably can't sit still for a long, boring drama. To some people, you come across as immature, but so what? Your playful personality means you'll stay forever young.

Hair Cut

My mom all of a sudden decided to cut my hair off last night just before I went to bed. What do you think? She cut off like 4 inches! I love it. If you're wondering if anyone at school noticed it. Anaka and Kaitlyn (a girl in my class) are the only ones.

Fun with Jers and Plons!

I had sooo much fun last night with Jeremy and Plonie and their kids, and my famly. First we ate pancakes, sausage, Bacon and Eggs. Then we watched "We are Marshall". I almost Cried. I am pretty sure my dad did cry. We probably stayed up until 11:00 pm. And then I had to go to bed. It was Soooooo much fun. I want to get together and do it again.

UEA Adventures and Other Stuff

I'm home from school today, because I have pink eye. EW!!! It's clearing up fast with the drops Mom puts in. I had lots of homework due and a test today. Oh well .... I'm glad that I get to blog. Here is a slide show of my fun UEA weekend. Even though that was forever ago.

Look how big and fat that green grape is compared to the purple grape. Weird. I was the only one that dared to eat the big green monster grape. It was good ------ juicy!
I lost 2 more teeth. So, now I only have 4 teeth that show in the front. It looks really weird. When I lost the second tooth - it was in the movie theater. It was out of the socket, but I couldn't pull it out because it was only on one string. My metal spacers really show now. When in the world are my teeth going to grow in?!!!!!!!

hahahaha - every time I see this picture, I laugh.

No School!

It's UEA weekend! So, I don't have to go to school today, tomorrow, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday! Yesterday, we played outside almost all afternoon. Me and Candace dug a HUGE hole at the park ... with mini cliffs and rock slides. My family played a couple of CLOSE games of Candyland. Aaron won the first time and I won the 2nd time.

Today, after Mom teaches piano, we're going to go to the park to play. When Daddy gets home, we're going to Classic Skate! YAY!

We're also going to hopefully go to Cascade Springs on Saturday ... WITH SIERRA!!!! I'm so excited. I'll be posting pictures of all adventures. Stay tuned ...

Finally - a New Post!

I almost know ALL of the 50 states of America. In fact, I got 100% on the test of the south-eastern states. Me and Sierra put together this U.S. puzzle. It was hard ... especially on the ones we didn't know.
This is me in the new school outfit M got me. I love it! Thank you, M! Kristy also got me a cute purple shirt - I love it too. I have cool aunts. Nice socks, Aaron. We can't all be stylin' all the time, you know!

Stuff

Here I am in my new boots. This is what I wore to school on Thursday. And ... my glasses are fixed. Yay!

These are the states that I know now .... plus, I know where they go: Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Utah, Arizona, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, and Ohio!

My mom and dad go around singing the Star Spangled Banner nonstop. They are so embarrassing. If my friends ever hear ... :O!
But, I guess it kindof helps.

I really want to go see Underdog at the Drive-Inn. I hope we get to sometime soon.

In school I like doing art, because we got to make a thing about what we did this Summer. I got to trace a design with this tracer thing, and my picture was called "Memories of Summer". I drew pictures, taped it to a string, and taped it to the shape that I traced. It looks really neat. I drew pictures of our San Diego trip: the beach, the swimming pool, the zoo. I have to think of 8 things about San Diego, so I'm still thinking. Oh yeah - the cool birds - maybe I'll try to draw those too.

School, School, and More School

I can tell already that 5th grade is going to be fun and HARD!!!!
Here is a copy of what I have to do EVERY DAY for homework. And today's homework took me more than 2 hours.

I had to bring home my math book, and it made my bag REALLY heavy!

I am really excited for Social Studies. But - that is going to be WAY hard. I have to learn all of the states of America and where they are + know their capitals. I have to memorize the Gettysburg Address (my mom did that in COLLEGE). I need to know the Pledge of Allegience and Star Spangled Banner (that's not too hard). I also need to learn the preamble of the US Constitution. AND - know the US Presidents in order. My mom says that she doesn't even know half of that stuff. But, she will when I'm done with her! These assignments are actually just for students that want to earn a special award called the Great American Challenge Award. When I took the US States pre-test - I only got 5 right, so I've got some work to do.

THIS is my favorite part of school. New clothes and new shoes. We don't usually go school-clothes shopping until mid-September. BUT - my Mom got me these cool boots last May ... and hasn't let me wear them until school started. I love them! Aren't they cute? I haven't worn them to school yet, but I think I will tomorrow.

The Best Time Ever

I had so much fun at my HighSchool Musical 2 Party!! It was very exciting.

Here I am ready and waiting for everyone to come:

After we ate pizza - we played tag and danced like crazy to get ready for the show to start:

This is Emily teaching me how to do the twister twirl ... or whatever it's called. Fun.
This was really fun. We were SOOO excited for the show to start:

When the show started, we all started SCREAMING ... and had a quick popcorn fight. Loved it!
But, we had to sit in popcorn until the first commercial. No one seemed to mind but my mom. I actually didn't like sitting in popcorn either.
So, then we cleaned it up during the first commercial - and put new popcorn in popcorn bowls. I LOOOOOOOOOVED High School Musical 2!

Many Things

THIS FRIDAY!!!!!!! I'm so excited to see High School Musical 2! I invited my favorite friends - and, even though it doesn't start until 9:00 at night - we're gonna stay up and watch it. So, my party won't end until 11:00!!!! We got High School Musical 2 plates and cups, and Grandma got me a cool High School Musical center piece. We're going to have pizza and lots of snacks. It'll be fun.

Krystal loves to play hide-n-go seek. BUT - when I play with her, there are some very specific rules: #1 - She tells me where to hide, #2 - THEN she counts ("8,9,10,11, 7,1,2,3! Not - here come!") while I hide where she told me to hide, #3 - She stands in front of where I'm hiding and says, "Give me a BEEP BEEP" ... she yells this 3 or 4 times (we always yell "Give me a Beep Beep if we're having a hard time finding the person who is hiding), then #4 - she finds me ... very excitingly like she had NO idea where I was and then she tells me to hide in the same spot 5 more times or so, and then it starts all over again. My mom took this picture of me TOTALLY stuck in the laundry basket (one of the places Krystal wanted me to hide). heehee

School starts in one week. HOLY COW! I can't believe it! I got Mrs. Pangan for my teacher - the same as my friends Emily and Weslie ... maybe more - those are 2 of my friends I see more often. I'm excited. Sierra got Mr. Asay, and I REALLY wanted him for my teacher, but I'm excited for Mrs. Pangan anyways. Everyone says she's really good. Some people have told me she's the best teacher ever. We'll see.

School and Friends

I really hope I get the same teacher as my favorite friends this year: Sierra, Anaka, Emily (I don't have a picture of Emily). Especially since this will probably be my last year here in Orem. I can't believe that school starts in 2 weeks! Weird. I wonder who my teacher will be. AND Aaron starts Kindergarten. That will be so fun. I remember that once in kindergarten, I accidentally burped during class - and then I just said, "sorry."

I've Been Tagged! Here Are My 8 Things:

1- I LOVE to sleep in. And I will sleep until 11:00 if my parents let me.

2- I have 40 Littlest Pet Shop pets.

3- Once, when I was little, I was getting down to run around right after I had put a carrot in my mouth. My mom said, "Marissa! Stop before you asparate that carrot!" I simply stopped and said, "What's a carrot?" I obviously meant to ask, "What's asparate?" But, they were all laughing.

4- My favorite restaurant EVER is Sizzler. Sometimes I get steak and sometimes I get shrimp.

5- I used 3 different wheel chairs during my recovery from A.D.E.M. I named them Squeaky, Blackie, and Little Bug. I HATED Blackie - but, I didn't mind Little Bug - who came home with me. Luckily, I never really had to use Little Bug once I got home.

6 - At one point in my life I owned around 300 stuffed animals. That's right ---> 300! My mom is pretty good at making us simplify - so, now I only have about 30.

7- When I grow up I want to be a Pre-School teacher. I just LOVE kids.

8- I'm probably one of very few who has more than one "first word". When I was 10 months old, I said "light" and when I was learning how to talk again after being sick, I finally said, "fish" ... well, it was more like "fi ...", but they knew what I meant.

That was fun. Tag Maddie Browning ---- you're it! You need to tell us 8 things about yourself that others might not know, okay?

10 Happenings in My Life

1. We went to SanDiego Beach. We had a blast!

I loved - I mean, LOVED - the beach. And I LOVED eating at the Cheesecake Factory. I got fried macaroni and cheese balls. So good.

2. Brandon and Tina were here for a week! We had lots of fun. Here's what we did on the 4th of July with everyone:

We had a yummy Swedish pancake brunch, hung out - I love baby Kyle, and went to a baseball game with fireworks.

3. My latest Littlest Pet Shops:
My 2 pandas - Twinkle and Sparky
My squirrel - not named yet ... any ideas?
My raccoon - Bandit
My ferret - I just traded Foxy, my fox, for this ferret named Jacuzzi.

4. I went to see the Harry Potter movie this afternoon. I loved it, but some parts were very scary - like the dementors and the bad guys masks.

5. I've been missing school. Today I went through all of my old school stuff and found a book of stories I wrote in the second grade. My favorite poem was a Halloween one. We used to sing and say poems a lot in the 2nd grade.

6. Me and my mom have to do a HUGE part in the Sacrament Meeting Primary Presentation. I'm really nervous - but, we'll practice lots and lots.

7. Mom signed me up for gymnastics. It's gonna be really fun. I can't do a cartwheel yet, so I should learn a lot too. I DEFINITELY don't know how to do a flip.

8. What I'm reading right now: Smashed Potatoes and Other Thanksgiving Disasters. That's kindof a funny book to be reading in the middle of Summer, huh? But, it's a good book.

9. High School Musical 2 comes out next month! That's why I put up the new song. I'm excited. I'm gonna have a big party ... the first day it comes out ... August 17.

10. Does everyone know I like to swim? Love it. We had an underwater camera - and we took pictures under water, but we don't have them developed yet. So, when we get them, I'll show them to you.

Marissa's Thoughts on the Beach

Hi - it's Marissa's Mom, Michelle - I just loved this picture and how cute Miss is - so I had to post this. She sat peacefully on the beach to observe and write. Gotta love her!

Isn't this picture cute ?
